I've Been a Busy Bee.

Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz, WOW I've been busy this week. It's very hard dealing with Chris' rotating schedule and work and keeping my house clean! Chris has been helping me clean a lot, which is awesome, but he's usually great about that kind of stuff anyway.

I'm currently making a veggie lasagna and I'm drooling because it smells so good. I adapted it from a recipe on Recipe Zaar. I absolutely love this site, and everyone knows that cooking at home is a great way to save money, so start searching it for great new recipes for you and your fam.

I've been getting some good deals lately. I went to CVS on Sunday and earned 18 ECBs! A few days earlier I bought bandaids, dishsoap, conditioner and hand soap and with coupons and ECBs I only spent 45 cents out of pocket!! What a rush.

I also have been doing really well at Price Chopper. I went the other day and bought an insane amount of groceries and it only cost me $105. I saved $80. I actually forgot to use a $1 off coupon so when I went back the other day to get some more stuff, I went to the Customer Service counter and showed the items I bought, my reciept and the coupon and the girl gave me the buck back, and she was really nice about it too. I know, that's pushing it a little, but grocery stores will bend over backward for their customers so I just assumed it would be fine, and it was.

On that same trip I got 4 or 5 bags of groceries for just over $60. I am getting in the habit of only using my coupons on items that are on sale. If it's something that I really need, and I have a coupon for it, that's fine too. But I ended up getting some items I hadn't planned on getting because they were on sale and I had a coupon for it. Turns out the TLC Dark Chocolate Coconut bars healthy and blissful! And I got some super cheap Pringles to pack in Chris' lunches. On that note...pack a lunch people! It'll save you a fortune and your coworkers will be envious when they see you roll up with this hot item:

Don't laugh, I actually own that!

To be good and thrifty you really need to change your thinking and your bad habits. Yes it will take you about an hour or two on Sunday morning clipping coupons and scouting deals, but it'll be worth it. It's good to make a list of food items that you need, but if you spot a good deal at the store, on something that you know you'll need eventually, and you have a coupon...just get it. Unless it's something perishable, then it's not wise, because you'll just end up throwing it out.

Ok I need to sleep but I'll post more tomorrow.
